GPS on Android Phone with beta 1.2

Hi all

Does the GPS is suppose working on Android phone (Galaxy S3) with beta 1.2 ?

If yes, how can I test it ?

I have created a scene triggerring by the GPS for admin but nothing happen (I should receive a email when I arrive at home).

To test it, I run the GPS on my phone then I run the app on my phone, but I don't receive anything

Is there something wrong in what I did ?

Its flaky the GPS support i found that the admin account works and then fails randomly... try creating a new user and then try i think you will have far more success!

Someone needs to create a bugzilla report about the admin issue and keep pestering them until its fixed!

Confirm we are correct or it will fall on deaf ears!

It also fails to function ok on my Galaxy S4 android phone. I tried also with admin AND another user

    I tried it with an other user than admin and it doesn't work..

    So either I don't know how to use it either it doesn't work !!!

    Fibaro team, could you please give us more information ? doesn't my scene is ok ?

    1. Do you have gps tracking enabled for user which you use in your mobile app?

    2. If yes what frequency did you set for gps tracking for that user?

    3. Did any points appear in the Family section of Your House?

    4. Do you have notifications enabled for your user? (considering your scene which seems to be fine)

    5. And after all you have to first leave area specified in scene and then appear in it again to trigger the action - did you do that?

    Please check everything and let us know about the results.

    you mean to select the option on the attached file. The option was not selected for the user connected to the phone app. It was selected only for the admin. It's because of the message, you talk about IPhone ("How frequently GPS position from the user’s iPhone should be collected").. so is it available for all phones ?

    that's what I did but because gps tracking was not selected for my user, I will try it again if you confirm question 2

    Yes, it is for all phones. I think it is from the time when we had only iOS app and it must have been overlooked in translation process. We will surely change that. So please enable frequency of 1min for your new user and make sure that notifications are enabled also.

    If any gps point will be logged you will see Family panel on the bottom of left menu in Your House view. After clicking users name you can choose the period and see logged points on the map. Screenshots attached.

    And one more advice, while testing please make sure that you really leave selected area because there is always the matter of sensitivity of gps built in your phone (it could be from few meters up to lets say even one hundred)

    I do not have the Family Tab also..Looked for it anywhere..Maybe that is why the gps localisation is not working for me either (Galaxy S4 Android)

    Other way round! You do not have Familt Tab because your hasGPS = False on your hc2 user account! I do not bother with it now it never has worked properly... use wifi ping for reliable location!

    what do you mean with GPS=False ?

    I tried what you suggested without any results. I set 1 minute for GPS position collection for my user, I ran the GPS and I logged the mobile app with this user. I left the selected area without any results. Does the family tab should appear only if GPS points have been logged ?

    or it should appear when you created users different from admin ?

    Try the hc2 toolkit I bet it states your user GPS = false

    deanrparry, that working... so new ticket on bugzilla will not help

    Quikdav, 123aanthony, do that

    1. if you use hc2 toolkit check for that user do you got tracking on 1 if not set it

    2. connect you android phone with version 1.2!!! to hc2 with data for that user

    3. if you got 1min wait 5min and check do you got family panel or hasgps on true if not go to phone ->fibaro app -> configuration and move gps precision to 30m and wait again

    Link from your beta 1.2 so yes 100%... Note! It DID work but not anymore!

    deanrparry, contact with support maybe they will find reason why it is not working on your settings
