Roller shutter

Hi,

I have Somfy and i dont know how to connect with FGR221 Roller shutter. It is different from diagram wiring.

Please look at the pictures.

Any idea?

Seem there is some danger in the way it is connected. The Yellow / Green is normaly for EARTH puposes.... And should be connected only to Yellow / Green cables.

I use Somfy on my own there is 4 wires comming to the motor :

- Blue : Neutral

- Yellow / Green : Earth

- Black : Motor one way

- Brown : Motor other way.

The Blue and Yellow / Green goes directly to the power source.

The Black and the Brown on the Roller Shutter. You just need to add Live connection to the Roller Shutter and I will working.

Electrician put these 2 cables ; one cable has 2 wire , other cable has 3 wire, connect cables blue wires together.. ( i really dont understand why)

Normally i think i have 2 wired system in my house. How can i make a live connection?

Hi duruid,

Firstly, when it comes to live electricity, if you are not sure please consult a qualified electrician.

I can't be 100% sure of this, but I can try to help you.

The brown cable connected to the COM (middle) terminal of the switch looks like your permanent live feed.

The Brown and Green/Yellow cable connected either side of that are your Up/Down 'Switched' Lives going to the motor. Someone has just re-purposed the Earth (most motors don't have an earth connection anyway) for the second switched live, usually a Black cable. If you want to re-purpose a cable, you MUST place a marker on it to indicate that it's not being used for it's intended purpose. I.e. there should be a little bit of Brown tape on the end of that cable to indicate that it's Live, not Earth.

The Blues are your neutral.

I would confirm this with a meter before connecting anything, but that's how it looks according to you photos at least.

That's it really, should be able to wire as per the diagram with that info:

1. Connect your Permanent live to the L Terminal of the Module and COM of the wall switch

2. Connect your Switched Lives to the 01 and 02 Terminals respectively

3. Connect your Neutral to the N Terminal

4. Connect ways 1 and 2 of the wall switch to S1 and S2 respectively

5. Include, Configure and Test!

Standard precautions apply - power off at the breakers, mark your cables etc etc. But as I said before, if you're not comfortable with this, PLEASE ask someone who is.

When i connect as you describe wall panel buttons always on or off, icant stop in middle.

I tried another way, my buttons work as usual and fibaro roller shutter work.

Note: i have only 1 live (middle connection brown cable) other brown cable green/yellow and blue is coming from motor.

can you now close the blinds in the middle, and is it showing in hc2 in the correct way
