I'm looking for a new gas fired boiler to be installed for the next heating season. Of course energy efficiency is my top priority, but it should also be connected to my HC2 so that it can be controlled intelligently.

The current boiler is an old vessel that's probably heating up the exhaust fumes more than it heats the water, and it only has an on/off connection. Works properly with my boiler relay. I essence I'm not really confident that a modulating thermostat saves a lot on energy efficiency, since the boiler will modulate based on delta-T anyway. I do see some advantages however in controlling the modulation with a thermostat, mainly for comfort reasons.

Since no modulating Z-wave thermostats are available, that's no option. I do however see that the Remeha Calenta for instance can be controlled using a 0-10V signal.

I'm sorry, I've searched for an English manual, but could't find it.

I think in combination with an RGBW-module, you should be able to feed a 0-10V signal to the boiler. You probably can't use the heating panel anymore, but some manual programming (or perhaps a plugin, once Fibaro has opened up that possibility) should do the trick.

Have more people investigated this possibility? Any problems that I fail to see here?

Hi,

Found this old topic as also about to buy a Remeha Calenta and was wondering if the Fibaro RGBW module with 0-10V control is reliable enough to precisely control my boiler. Unfortunately, either the Remeha thermostat can be attached OR the Remeha 0-10V module. So if I buy the 0-10V module, and the Fibaro based solution will not bre reliable enough, that is a wasted money.

Any experience from anyone who is controlling a Remeha Calenta or any other brand modulation boiler with Fibaro?

Thanks!
