Danfoss valves range problem

Question

Posted

Hi

I have several danfoss trv's v.2.51. They all seem to work perfectly with HC2 as long as they are in direct range of the HC2. If they are installed more than about 8m away from HC2 they lose communication.

I have tried updating neighbour nodes in the network but still nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas how to solve this or is it just a problem with the danfoss valves that they have to be in direct range? I have read that they can only respond to 1 "jump" in the network (although Danfoss claim 4!) but it seems I can't even get them to work with the mesh network at all.

Thanks for any help

ahillesq,

just move your HC toward centre of your house so all Danfoss valves are in it's reach. Otherwise troubles ahead

I was fearing you might say that! The HC2 IS in the middle of the house...it's quite a big house! all valves near the middle of the house work but anything further...nothing.

The horstmann thermostats seem to work much better but still struggle when they are quite a way from the HC2.

Think I'll just have to dump the danfoss valves. A bit annoying when it's claimed they can integrate into the z-wave network. Still...that's probably why Danfoss don't support them in the uk.

    Thanks for your quick reply
