Mymovies and Windows Media Center and HC2 Lighting Control

Mymovies and Fibaro HC2 Lights or anything control

Hi I’m aware there is a large xbmc thread – however having recently revisited xbmc – whilst I agree it looks great it still was not as stable as I would like and the lack of Dshow filters on windows leads on my system to a fall in image quality. There was also a major audio sync issue. I did try the DSPlayer xbmc thread which improved image back to baseline by using my standard directshow filters – however the audio remained out of sync. All in all – it proved to difficult – hopefully gotham down the track will help.

Anyway …

How to control lights with Mymovies? And Windows media player.

Mymovies 4.06 latest version introduces EventHandling. (sounds promising)

Pavlov70 here has written a very funcition HTTP Event Handler for mymovies which works well with HC2 and Fibaro. (Yah! Thanks)

Instructions

1. Update Mymovies to latest 4.06

2. Download HTTP EventHandler from above 1st thread

Place it in

C:\ProgramData\My Movies\FileStorage\User Customization\Event Handlers

On your mymovies media center machine

3. Log in to Collection Manager – go to Event Handlers tab and select HTTP Event Handler

/download.php?id=2351" alt="download.php?id=2351" />

Setup as above change username and password and IP to point to HC2

Then – using API calls can setup as desire

Pictured example using device Turn On commands – found was easier to setup not active, not starting with HC2 starts scenes instead easier to change events down the track.

/api/sceneControl?id=46&action=start

I also noted that since these would not be triggered only run by the API the calls have to be in LUA. (not graphic blocks as no triggering variable)

Eg.

Currently works great!

    Thanks

MCE Controller and older VMCController are very good - but allow the HC2 via Virtual Device to control MCE/and Windows - with the above example the control is MCE controlling and triggering HC2.

Unless I'm mistaken - neither MCE Controller/VMC Controller can push events to the HC2 to trigger scenes; which is what is ideal.
