Problems communicating with Sony reciever

dhanjel

Question

I used a program called "Device Spy" to try to find the interface for communicating with different media hardware in my house.

For my Sony STR-DN040 reciever (

), I found out that the following code is used, and it works within Device Spy.

I've used code from the thread on how to communicate with Sonos and rewrote it like this:

But it does not work, nothing happens. Any idea? I've tried to hard code the volume value as well without luck.

I've tried another code example to get the volume.

Sniffed request and response:

Please login or register to see this code.

And my LUA-code:

Please login or register to see this code.

Only response I get is:

[DEBUG] 09:41:31: HTTP/1.1 505 HTTP Version Not Supported X-AV-Server-Info: av="5.0"; cn="Sony Corporation"; mn="STR-DN1040"; mv="1.00" X-AV-Physical-Unit-Info: pa="STR-DN1040"

-- Update

I did a quick and dirty test in .net and it works like a charm, so it has to be a problem with the LUA-code in some way.

No suggestions? :(

I also would like to know about this. I have a Sony TV (W905A) and a Receiver (STR-DN1040) in our living room and would love to be able to work with them through HC2. I really hope Fibaro will come up with better solutions to implement support for this.

  • I have the exact same setup, and à ps4 as well. Thinking of using à raspberry pi as middle layer since it does not work in hc2.

Maybe Fibaro can come up with a decent solution instead of us building another in between device

dhanjel, you can remove <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> and 0x0D0x0A0x0D0x0A in yout code. Are you sure about the your content length ?
