Start scene with no triggers

Question

Posted

Hi

I have been using Vera lite and I am new to HC2 as I just got it yesterday.

I am not able to run scenes that do not have triggers. I am also not able to check of the "start when homecenter 2 starts" option. When I check it and click save it gos of again after I have clicked save. any idea why?

I want to create two scenes. One for "home" and one for "away".

I have added the device I want to turn on and off. When I manually run the scene the device doeas nothing. Any idea why?

I don't want the scene to be time reliant I just want it to execute by manually running the scene.

Your scene is not complete. You have defined the condition, but not the action. Your scene states than something is about to happen if your roof light is turned on. Since it's incomplete, it will not run and you can not check that it should start.

If you are using block scene you have to ask from yourself also first one question: IF...

This is where scene starts from and also there must be some kind of action. Correct scene includes THEN command. Logic is like this ( send notification when bedroom light is turned on) :

IF bedroom light is ON

THEN

Send notification to admin.

quite simple when you get to know this.

Also Welcome to Fibaro-s community. Can I ask why you choosed HC2 to replace Vera lite?

    Thanx for your reply.

The vera was very configurable and it was nice that it had all the plugins and so on. But the unit was very slow. I also felt that there was lack of new updates on firmware en generall updates to suit new products.

When i read about Fibaro HC2 everybody sad it was faster. That combined with the speed that Fibaro are coming out with new firmware, new products and the general feel and look of it, i thought it was the right choice. I think that Fibaro will be way ahead of Vera in 12 months time wen we look at the current rate of updates. I just hope that the US launch will set fire to the API and plugins for HC2.

Now over to my problem. I can see that the scene is incomplete. But if all i want to do is turn of multiple devices, how do i complete the scene? At the moment i have just added one light for testing purposes.

All i want to do is run a scene to turn on or off devices when i run it?

Will the scene example you created work the way you have made it?

All I want to do is make a scene to turn on or off lights when I manually run the scene. I do not want to use any triggers other than me manually running the scene.

The scene Socha made will work. That scenes works in a way that when device ID #7 is turned on, the Home Center 2 also turns on device id # 25 (or a group of devices you choose from the arrow he displayed in his image). The you can run this scene manually from your phone.

The only "bad thing" about this scene is that it will run every time id # 7 is turned on, wether it's manually or somehow else.

The only way to create a scene like you want, is to make it by LUA code. Maybe that would be easier for you.

For your "Nå kommer jeg hjem" scene, you can add a bunch of lines like this:

... and for "Nå drar jeg på jobb" scene, you do the opposite:

chose in "if" section time action "once" can be some date from past in section then chose your devices with state "opposite state"

then scene will start when you press button run and device always will change state to oppsite

If you want to do a scene without condition, do it in Lua...

Else create a condition already grue

I had the same question a long time ago. As you, I wanted a scene that executes only manually, and since it was a simple scene I also wanted to have it in graphic blocks.

In HC2 you must have a scene trigger in a graphic scene, but I used a workaround - see picture below.

This scene also has a trigger, but it will never run if you don't touch the variable. Manual execution will work.

Thanks for all your replies. Although all of them worked in a way I chose to create a variable followed by a then command by turning light on, this worked great.

People over at the Micasaverde forum are saying that the Fibaro community lacks support but this post proves something different. Thank you everyone

So far this community has helped me out every time. If not the users, then the input of Fibaro representatives. The wait right now is for plugins.
