or fibaro wall plug. Samsung TV remembers last power state. So if it was turned off via fibaro wall plug, then it can be turned on back.

But doesn't this damage your TV if you just interrupt the power?

Yes, it's quite rude, but as far as I know no damage.

But one more drawback - you can't use normal remote to turn your TV back on.

So iR-based solution is preferred one.

    Hi,

Does the 8000-series have network wake up? How does that work?

    Thanks,

I use Global Cach wf2ir to "press" (send via IR) ON command to my TV.

But since it is the same command for both power on and off, I use it in a combination of power consumption check in wall plug. That allows to "press" power button only in case if TV is really off.

    The code:

My infrared "On" command for Samsung Smart TV is

    ID 75 is your wallplug

but what is your ID 95, is it your Virtual device wiht the code

if yes, where can you find the ID

    Kage,

Virtual Device ID you can find in URL, when you open it in Fibaro HC2.

    Yes, in my case:

ID=75 is a wallplug connected to TV

ID=95 is a virtual device controlling TV (with infrared codes). But there is also an IP version of control for Samsung Smart TV available on the forum.

Good question regarding the ID of virtual device. It must be available on the main tab of virtual device (just as in case of any regular device, hello Fibaro!!!), but it is not there.

So I found 2 options to get it:

    1) create a LUA scene and select your virtual device > pressButton() from a list on the left hand side in "Devices list" menu (it's the menu with functions from API)

    2) create a GUI scene, add a button click with your virtual device. Save scene. Convert it to LUA.

    Profit!

the official way is just look on screen when you are in lua edit mode.

And you see on the left all devices.

Hover mouse over and you will see all details: ID, methods, etc..

Please login or register to see this image.

there you can click "pressbutton()" and hc2 insert good code.
