I just received my Smoke Sensor, and i have some question regarding the way it is working

- Association is really hard, the button on the top (B) is quite difficult to action,

- Using the smoke sensor on battery, how do i trigger the siren ? what is the command class to be used, is it possible ? Do i need to run the Smoke Sensor on DC ?

- How do i gather the Black-box information, what is the command class to be used ?

Thanks for your help

Viber,

would you like to run onboard siren by Z-Wave command class? It is not possibile. This device is the sensor only, not Z-Wave siren. You can manual trigger the siren for sensor test by press and hold the B button.

Black box intformations will be available in next Home Center 2 software versions.

Krystian, if I understand correct. It is due to how z-wave command clases are setup that it is not possible to trigger the internal siren? Is there not another way for you to build it into the firmware, or is it a choice to not enable this?

When using push notifications, I get on all my ios devices double messages. Any idea why? I remember that I made a new user name on the portal, could this be a problem?

Did you use scene or clicked under parameters: send notification when status change?

If last was correct then I think you should tell smoke sensor to send you push when sensor is breached not about status change. Status change makes it double.

So, I have seven Fibaro smoke sensors, thinking one in each bedroom ++ would be everything I needed for a safe home, if a sensor goes off in the basement, I would of course need the others to go off immediately as well. Is it really true that this is not possible? If so, that is a major design problem. Then I will have to have another separate siren in every room?

It's not reallt a design problem but rather a consequence of them being battery operated devices.

If you need a siren in each room then I would say you have chosen the wrong siren. One or two per normal house should be more than enough and even the thought of having one in my bedroom is scary.

In my opinion there should not be any need for separate sirens. A normal networked fire alarm system always sets off all the others internal sirens, and they will normally be located in bedrooms etc. I do agree that a separate siren (I have the Zipato ZM1601 105dB) does not belong in a bedroom, but the siren from the Fibaro smoke sensor is OK for bedroom use.

I believe my house would require at least one siren on each of the three floors, and since I also have a garage and an apartment connected to the same system, it starts adding up.
