Get ID of scene?

Question

Posted

fibaro:getselfid() works for virtual devices but not for scenes, is there any similar way to get the ID of a scene without hard coding it?

Some other info on id/info of virtual devices:

I need it to kill another instance of the same scene.

    Hi Johan,

Would avoiding the other instance work?

Not really. The application is an analog of the dimmer.

This is (part of) my sceneActivation (parameter 41) scene. S2 on the dimmer is being used to toggle ordinary lights that don't dim. I'm testing out a way to use the S2 to control a secondary dimmer with double clicks and hold/release as these are not currently in use on this device. The first instance starts the dimming loop when the button is hold, the second instance shuts the whole thing down on release.

Maybe there's a more clever way to do this but so far it works quite well. I was just looking for a way to avoid hard coding the sceneID. Not that it's important as there's some hard coding anyway, I jut like to keep things dynamic if possible.
