Hi to all,

Anyone have any ideea about how this has been done?

Using Fibaro relays, that are installed inside the coffe machine I guess.

Couldn't you just use a wall plug? Turn off the plug, turn on the coffee maker and then create a scene which is activated at a certain time or when a particular scene is triggered (a waking up or coming home scene). Most coffee makers don't have any circuitry inside so whether you turn on the switch on the machine or in the wall shouldn't really matter.

No - someone has to push the button to activate coffe making cycle.

It might be because I don't drink coffee and only have a simple machine that can either be on or not, but my coffee maker would work with a wall plug.

However, I hadn't seen the video. This one is obviously done with some soldering and custom changes... However, I don't get why this is clever. This is a capsule machine, so you still have to fill it with water and change the capsule each time. The only difference is that now you also have to find your iPad, open the app, find the right page and then push a number of softbuttons... I'm betting it would be easier to just push the button when you've put in the capsule.

This just shows how home automation should not be used. If it is of no advantage to the user, then there is no idea in it. If it is easier to push a button or do something manually, then it shouldn't be automated. It just creates frustration among other members of the household and makes everyday life more complicated instead of easier.

It's very easy on the Tassimo machines. Open the unit and you will see two wires from the pushbutton that makes coffee. Wire these through the 3kw relay and add power from the power supply inside the machine.
