Looks like its relay only then I overlooked the capabilities of the dimmer module

It should be very straight forward... Connect the phase wire (live lead) to the L terminal, connect the lamp to N and O and that should be it. The other lead from the lamp should be connected directly to youy neutral lead.

Once everything is connected up, just enter learning mode and press the little hidden button thrice.

For this to work ofcause, there needs to be a connection through the lamp first, as the dimmer requires a power source - and it can only get power if it is connected through the lamp. So if it's a CCFL lamp or a LED it might not complete the cirquit and therefore you can't power up your relay. Same goes if there is an extra electronic dimmer somewhere in the circuit.

deanrparry,

Please notice that some light sources can be not-dimmable. Please check if your bulb is dimmable before installing dimmer.

Thank you for clarification I can only assume the module is faulty then as it comes straight on and with ONLY live and neutral connected i struggle a lot to exclude and include... if memory serves this is a module i removed from my lighting circuit after a gu10 50w halogen bulb blew and stopped this working!

dims fine with an everspring module... standard 50w spotlight bulb not energy saving or led!
