I have had 3 modules now that had a dead battery in 5 days after installing them. I replaced the battery because I though it would just have been cheap batteries. With the VARTA that I replaced it with I though it would last for a few year now.... 3 days later, 2 of them are empty again! What the hell is happening with these sensors?

In my experience Varta is not so good battery. At work it almost doubled my battery consumption. Changed back to Duracell / Rayovac. Never ever again.

Actually I have recently changed to rechargeable batteries, because new battery generation does not self discharge so fast that earlier... After over 6 months still okay, just like freshly charged.

got the exact same experience! replaced them with good batteries (for photo cameras, quite expensive) - dead after a few days...

I guess that was because the smoke sensor was not properly included in the network - beep every 30min so draining the battery...

not happy as I have 9 of them - you can imagine the beeping all over the house until I figured this out.

I'm having very similar experience with both Smoke Sensor and Flood Sensor.

I was trying to find some threads on the forum dealing with communication parameters, e.g. Polling time interval and their effect on the battery life.

Same experience with Fibaro Flood detector. Received unit with battery already less than 30%

Replaced with new, now after two months it's close to zero.

I had the same problem with 2 of my smokesensors, the battery was dead in 2 days. What I did was run a script to rediscover the neighbors and is running fine for a while now.

stevenvd, did you figure this out? I have one included in the same room where my HC2 is located (so direct connection) and this one is working. but I dare trying to re-include my other 8 as they would have to bridge - and this brought down my whole network... any idea?

I have 2 of these on order... slightly concerned that the battery drain is soo fast when on Fibaro's marketing material it says upto 3 years depending on Parameters set.. What parameters are these?? I was going to replace the existing Smoke Detectors in the house but with this in mind, will put these along side just for safety's sake..
