Wallplug trigger scene?

EdwinK

Question

The wallplug can switch associated devices based on power consumption thresholds but is it also possible to trigger a scene?

Yes... I have a scene that triggers when the consumption goes above 10W (basically a threshold to ensure that the component is on and not just st.by consumption).

I'm not sure the block scene creator can do it, but you just need to include "XX value" under values in the top of the Lua script where XX is the id of the wall plug to enable it to trigger the scene.

  • "XX value" represents the 'on/off' state of the wallplug (which is always 'on' in this case) ... i'm now using "XX valueSensor", but since this property is updated regularly (when consumption changes) the scene gets triggered regularly too, instead of just when consumption passes the thresholds configured in the plug.

It would be great if the wallplug could trigger scenes like the switches and dimmers can do.

Just put your whole scene inside an "if"-statement that fires when the value reaches the threshold. I don't think you can set it to trigger like a dimmer
