Hello all,

I have several questions regarding the durability of Fibaro dimmers and switches when things go wrong.

How well does a Fibaro Relay handle a short circuit? E.g. say I use a Fibaro Relay to automate my garden lights. One of my garden lights causes a short circuit. Will this break the Fibaro relay? If yes, should I use a separate relay in between the Fibaro Relay and my garden lights as a layer of protection?

Same question for dimmers: Will a short circuit break the Fibaro Dimmer? If yes, can a short circuited Fibaro Dimmer be restored or repaired?

According to my experience in both cases Fibaro devices got broken.

Ok, any way to repair these devices after they've been short circuited?

And, any way to protect these devices from short circuits? I am not a electrotechnician but I can imagine you can place an additional relay between a Fibaro Relay and the actual load. I'd rather replace a 2$ relay than a 60$ zwave device.

Anyone have any input on the above questions? The outcome will determine whether I am going to invest in the Fibaro platform.
