The problem

The lamp is connected to fibaro dimmer and is turned on. I want to adjust the brightness, so I press and hold S1 on the Fibaro dimmer. The problem is that sometimes nothing happens and the dimmer does not dim (lamp brightness is the same).

Question

Is there anybody else having the same issue?

Details

Fibaro dimmer has version 2.2. The type of load is halogen. Connection without the neutral. Parameters are all default except of P10 = 0 and P41 = activated. The switch type is momentary. S2 is associated with another device (Fibaro 3kw switch).

This is a well known bug. You have to remove the association and use a scene to control devices using S2.

There is a couple of threads about this here on the forums and I filed a bugzilla report a while back.

Here's one solution for sceneActivation:

Thanks fot reply StarkJohan. I am aware of course about these 2 threads and commented both of them for some time ago. They tell though more about 3 clicks problem when turning on/off the load.

In my case the dimmer turns on and off just fine, the associated device in S2 works also fine. It works 100%, probably because I use a momentary switch and P10=0. So both posts and bugzilla tells about a bit different problem than I actually have. That is why I made this new thread.

My problem relates only to a dimming of the light, which works in most cases, but not always. When the light is on and I press and hold S1 in order to dim the lamp, nothing happens sometimes.

You have to remove the association and use a scene to control devices using S2.

Big thanks for a hint. I will try that and will come back with the result!

Yep, I noticed that just after posting but didn't change my post as I still think this might be related or even the same bug.

Report back when you've tested without the direct association for a while, my bet is that your issue will be solved.

Hi StarkJohan! I just want to thank you because after removing the association on S2 there are no issues with dimming any more - I tested for several days.

Moreover then I also restored the parameter 10 to a default value, and also tested for a couple of days. So now I also have a smooth dimming when turn on/off the lamp. And no issues.

It seems like association is the source of different type of problems with Fibaro dimmer. Folk! Whenever you have a chance not to use S2 association in Fibaro Dimmer - DON'T USE IT! Lua can do it instead.
