3) If you want to hear how system speaking to you for that you can buy IVONA voice and program automaticaly will integrate this voice in to the system.

If you will have any questions you can contact with me here or in the skype (dimonius88) or here.

Russian is my native language so it is not a problem for me. And what I heard in youtube video, russian text-to-speech voice is very clear, I am impressed. Nevertheless I would like to have Enlglish and Swedish versions as well. Looking forward for support of English and Swedish!

Recently I found this solution by the way:

It looks promising, you can forward voice to HTTP commands in Fibaro API. Just some of the features:

control XBMC, MediaMonkey, iTunes, Window Media Center, MediaPortal

control home automation devices using plugins for Vera (Z-Wave), X10, TCP, UDP, and HTTP protocols

They even made a plugin for Vera! XBMC built-in integration sounds also great. And I was just about to install voxcommando on raspberry (OpenElec) when found that:

VoxCommando requires Windows Vista or later to run. Both 32 and 64 bit versions are supported.

VoxCommando does not work on Windows XP.

Are you serious!?!? No Linux support?

But it is unfortunately also the case with eHome system - exe installer. May be it is a problem just for me, but I personally don't like to buy a X86 computer and a Windows license in order to use it as a server. RPi is more logical home server solution IMHO. But that is a separate topic for discussion of course.

    Dear ivan.ruban

Im agree with you regarding linux and I saw before VoxCommando projekt. All this thinks availible in eHome Smart exe. But now Im waiting for updates wich will agree to use LOCAL speach control. It means that the system will not compare your speach with similar words in internet network like it working now with (Google speech). Thay have a planes to use own data base with will be create by user. At the moment I don like that all my speech going try the internet. That s why I choose eHome.

    Good day

Today tested feedback between HC2 and eHome. Now the voice from IVONA tells me how many percent lighting dimmed up/down or what scene has been started.

Tomorrow Im going on a business trip. When Ill come back, I want to make an extended video in English show where voice control is not only light and aircon, but also switching TV channels, as well as voice volume control.

Hi everyone. I am the creator of VoxCommando and I would like to make some clarifications, so there is no confusion about how VoxCommando works.

VoxCommando uses the Microsoft speech recognition APIs, and it does not upload your voice to the internet. It does not require an internet connection to work (unless you want to use it with certain web-services such as Google calendar, Skype etc).

VoxCommando version 2 supports many languages for speech recognition, including Russian, but the UI is not available in Russian.

You can create your own commands using your own words to do any number of different things interacting with many devices and programs. It was originally created for multimedia (things like iTunes, XBMC, MediaMonkey, MediaPortal, J.River etc.) but has been expanded to provide much more over the years, including options for home-automation.

I am not saying that VoxCommando is better than eHome, since I have never tried eHome, and if you are happy with eHome that is great. I just wanted to avoid confusion about my product.

The reason VoxCommando only works in Windows is because we are using Microsoft's very good free speech recognition APIs. As far as I know, there was no good free speech recognition API for linux when we started. I think there still isn't.

Finally , VoxCommando is not free, but it is free to use in trial mode, so if you are curious about it you can give it a test drive.

Cheerio, and happy home-automating to all.

    Thanks for your feedback dimonius88,

In fact VoxCommando (version 2) does support 26 languages (or variations of languages) and Russian is one of them. Why would I lie about this?

It is true that we do not have any ready to use configurations in Russian, but hopefully some users will eventually create some. You would need to either create your own commands in Russian, or you could start with an English configuration and translate the phrases into Russian. It is possible that there will be some bugs that show up when you try to use VC2 in Russian, but in theory there is no reason why it should not work correctly.

Version 2 of VoxCommando is currently in alpha because there are some major changes taking place in the near future, but in fact it is currently working well and quite stable as far as I have been able to test it. This version allows us to choose between the standard desktop speech recognition engine which supports only 5 languages, or the Microsoft speech platform 11 speech recognition engine, which supports 26.
