Outdoor motion sensor? Not required, use your IP camera.

Just configured outdoor motion detection with a camera. Activating a scene with lights, notifications when I'm absent, etc.

With a proper hardware (like Mobotix or Axis cameras) it is possible to configure IP notification (basically http GET requests) in case of motion detected.

Everyhing else is simple - create user with access rights to this scene on HC2, use notifications.

Works really good.

I've got Mobotix with dual lenses / sensors, night (B/W) and day mode (Colour).

Actually, it works fine virtually in complete darkness (0,005 lux)

It is possible to create "zones" to detect movement only in these areas, to configure sensitivity (pets immunity), etc. Extremely much more flexible than any IR motion sensor.

And more expensive for sure

BTW, mobotix have really nice door phone, which can be easily integrated to HC2 virtually the same way

p.s. added config screenshots from Axis also

Look nice, but a motion sensor is a lot cheaper then an Axis or Mobotix camera.

Btw, I am already using my Foscam camera to send me images when it sees motion.

That sounds nice. But € 1000 for a camera? Though I'm sure it is much better than camera's that cost only 1/10th or 1/5th of that, it's probably too expensive for most of us here (at least for me).

Will a Foscam do the trick also? I'm betting the results at night won't be as good, but for my purpose providing a motion trigger if there is a person 10m away would be sufficient.

    hvb83,

All Axis cameras can do that as well as all mobotix.

M1054 is not expensive (but it's not outdoor)

I'm not sure about Foscam but there should be some other brands with HTTP triggering functionality (it is quite basic stuff)

    mvrekum,

Please show me some good / cheap outdoor motion sensor + z-wave. I'm not even talking about HC2 support

Professional outdoor motion sensors are expensive, and you need to connect relay + something like fibaro sensor to them.

Still, the effective distance will be quite limited.

It will be cheaper than Mobotix, that's true. But nothing comparable in terms of safety - day & night video recordings are priceless.

BlueIris + any camera can do that also.

I use Xeoma fo this ..

    And some more actions..

    E-mail,

    record

    Daylight detection

    and more

    See the screen.

probleem of this kind of motion detection is that it;s slow.

If you need to turn on the outside lights when there is motion it will take few seconds...

Also I noticed that, on a cloudy day when sunlight differs a lot in strength, some camera's react with false positives.

You could use Merten ARGUS Outdoor Motion Detector (ARGUS 220) z-wave.

It is recognized and works with HC2. Motion works, unfortunately the reporting function of the Argus (lux value) does not work in HC2. It is only reported once.

I use the Everspring SP103 outdoor PIR detector. It's cheap (about 35 euro) and it works flawlessly with Fibaro's HC2.

Or...just use the Elro sensor icm FGS221 (any 220v sensor will be fine..)

The Fibaro FGS221 costs about 60 euro without the motion sensor. Are you really sure you are Dutch?

    Elro cost 15 euro

    Totaal 75 euro

Than you have a real sensor for outside usage.

Merten cost 130 euro and will not work well with Fibaro.

This solution works for 100% sure for long time..

most of the other sensor will die after a cold wet winter.

and...you can use the other FGS221 part for the lights or for the Elro dusk/dark sensor

    also 15 euro...

I'm using the Everspring for more then 18 months now. No problems with it. I had to change battery once, though. But it is fair to say that the Everspring is IP44 and mine is located beneath a roof overlapping the sensor.

You're solution looks great to me depending what tough environment it has to endure.

Looks nice shapa, i'll try it out too (have mobotix too) you can also trigger lux this way.

For some odd reason, it does not seem to work for me. If i type the url with admin:xxx in the url with below setting it does work. I also see in your picture that the realm is different then mine. Perhaps its a version issue? (also i dont think setting port 8080 is required though)

Sending IP message using profile "HC2Notify" (this may take up to one minute!):

INF: loading notify profile HC2Notify ...

INF: set profile send order "parallel"
