for example, wish to use my motion sensor to turn my lights in the morning but only a once a day

the scenes should only be active from 05:00 to 09:00

Make a global variable. Set it to 0

Check the global variable if it is 0, then you can turn on the lights. Once the lights are on set the variable to 1.

Make a second, time based scene that runs at midnight. In this scene set the global variable to 0 again.
