Hello,

while trying to make a simple scene which executes certain actions in certain months, I think I hit limitations of the graphical block scene creator.

Did I miss anything or is there no sane way to create simple scenes which (don't) execute only in certain months? (Without using Lua, because HCL... :/)

I'm looking for something like Control4 'Scheduler' offers. You can use it to trigger events, even based on things like sunrise / sunset, and make conditionals and loops even based on month intervals, night/day time (which is automatically adjusted according to your geographical location and timezone), leap year...

A practical example / request from a customer with HCL:

He wishes for his blinds/jalousies to open / close at certain times all year except in July and August.

Currently we can make his blinds open / close at certain times all year round. But there seems to be no way to add a condition on months (or even flip some variable every year in July to True and then in September back to False and use that variable as the condition).

Could you please tell me if that will be possible in any not so distant software upgrade or if the customer should just give up and pay for HC2? Or did we miss anything in the graphical block scenes in HCL?

Can HC2 set a condition on month only? I don't think so. Enlighten me if possible.

In current cases, due to the limitation of the scene conditions, perhaps the most efficient way is to use variables. There is many ways to use variables.

Does HCL has variables? For you to toggle the variable true/false?

If not, in that case, perhaps the best way is to upgrade to hc2.

Price reflects the capability as well.

lukas.polivka why not create a summer variable and let it change on certain dates.

Scene 1: on date xx change variable summer to true

Scene 2: on date yy change variable summer to false

Scene 3: open/close blinds depending on summer variable

I'm pretty certain you could do that using Lua.

Thanks, but that's what I'm doing at the moment. How do you trigger a scene on a certain date EVERY year?

You can trigger a scene on, let's say, 17th May 2014. But you cannot trigger a scene on 17th May, every year.
