Fibaro motion sensor - count guest/users

Question

How to configure two sensors so they keep track of how many people enter and leave a room or house? Possible in 3.5x version?

You could install two to look at either side of a door and then based on which is activated ("breached") first add or subtract one from the room count, but that is an expensive solution for sure.

The way a PIR works does not allow it to pick up the number of people in the room, it will only detect the amount of total IR radiation. So a huge guy of 160 kg will emmit almost as much radiation as four 10 year old kids.

I can only think of one way of detecting the number of people in a room and that is to make an "entrance barrier" i.e. a laser barrier which is breached whenever someone passes the door - but again, you'd need one on either side of the door to register the direction of movement.

    VERY EXPENSIVE INDEED!

    This might be of use:

It's neither easy nor as sleek as the fibaro motion detectors, but it ought to work more reliably, and if you can hide it away it might be a nice solution...
