Hello,

Just wanted to know if any 220V to 12-24V transformer is advised to be used with FGSS device ?

I have seen one like attached (350mA) and apparently it's enough "powerful".

They mention on the product's description that's it useful to power lights/LED but I guess it shouldn't be any different from powering FGSS module.

Thank you!

Be carefull with that. it is a led driver for a reason

it supplies the asked current with the necesary voltage and does not deliver a constant voltage. I do not think that it will work and may even distroy the device or the other way around.

    Any advise ?

No, have been looking for a small voltage power supply to build in aswell.

Some LED "drivers" may work, but it is important that they have a constant voltage output, such as used for LED strips.

As "LED" is also mentioned for these items, what says current is constant compared to the one in the picture I posted ?

    Posted

yours only has an output current with a max current. The voltage will change depending on the current.

While the other ones show a 12v DC output voltage, with a max current. Therefor the output voltage will always be 12V and the current is depending on the "asked" power by the device.

    Something like this maybe?

    Thank you virgojavier.

I'd put the adapter in a ceiling junction box so it better have a case to not be in contact to other cables. And my idea, if possible, is to not pay same price as the Fibaro module itself to power it

btw should these module be armed manually ?

I have two of them turned on and they don't react to smoke at all...

    No, they should be fine.

They react to smoke after 5 seconds and 3 tries of having detected smoke. So maybe try longer.

I couldn't find this topic anymore, but I received the power supplies yesterday. We will give them a try soon. They are very very tiny! Just wondering how safe they are... I mean you don't want them to catch fire
