Yeah yeah... Lets just see this thing fly before we project doom over the established products! I see a lot of crowdfunding projects ending up as vaporware (vaporfunding?) or not delivering anywhere close to what they promised!

These small start ups all come out with great ideas, but often they don't have a solid business plan and haven't done the necessary prework to know exactly what reality can deliver and how expensive it is going to be.

I think the Lifx bulb is a great example. Even though it was one of the most hyped and over funded projects on the crowdfunding scene, they took far longer to deliver a product, and when they did deliver, the product was nowhere near what they had promised. And they still aren't delivering as promised even though they are FAR behind schedule.

So if Lifx couldn't do it with the amount of funding they achieved, I have a hard time seeing so many others doing it for a lot less.

I agree, if they try to achieve this with funding of $100.000 I wish them a lot of luck.

Fibaro and other companies have invested millions in their research and development.

Yes, there is much to do for Fibaro but they have already come a far way. I think we should keep in mind that they are not just building a thermostat, but building a system that can control any device in the home.... and that's quite a lot. Still.... it's not an argument for the lose ends everywhere, they might have to steer more to a "let's finish something and then go to the next project" tactics

Wow, this thing has to be really intelligent. Have you seen the commands?

"Unlock the door" - which door?

"Turn up the temperature" - by how much?

"Turn on the lights" - which lights? I never want all lights on.

"Close the blinds" - again, which blinds? Front, back, living room, bedroom?

"Where is the dog" - I have no dog. But, if I had one, he would come if I called him. No need to ask where he is.

"What should I wear today" - Yeah, a machine is going to tell me what to wear. How about nothing, cause it's hot outside.

"What recipes can we cook..." - Love the WE. Can it cook to? That would be great.

"It's smart, it knows what you mean." - really? Can it read my mind? Than I have to build one into my wife, she never knows what I mean.

Come on, be realistic.

Lol, this thing must have passed the Turing test.

"Where is the dog".. "You don't have a dog you moron!"

"Turn up sauna heating" ... "You wish you had one!"

I guess they got too much inspiration from "Her".
