Hello All,

I dunno how fond Fibaro forum admins would be of this post but I am aware it is something essential and everyone would need this especially if they are planning on starting a smarthome system installation business like I intend to do.

So I think it is best to have a post where all experienced developers and those who have experienced Fibaro system first hand to list the common problems and limitations that exist in the system and any possible solutions or future promises from Fibaro's side to update firmware and such.

So please if you know of any issues, list them within your response.

Regards

Rather than post here you can read it on the bug reporting system

Please login or register to see this link.

But remember to filter by the release. There are also beta and alpha issues on bugzilla that you would not get if you are installing for clients.

Thank you for the reply rob; however, although the bug tracker covers technical issues, there are practical issues and limitations that might be there and cannot be really registered as a bug.

One example would be the lack of central A/C cooling support, HC2 does not support that while Vera does.

That is one example I can give from my own practical experience and I am sure a lot other users have many things they can report.

I am trying to gather as much info as possible since I need to have a clear view of what can and cannot be done with the system so far since I intend to not only install for myself but for others.

Support for A/C in the UK for most of the year and most years come to that is an issue. The weather is too cold to need it.

    I get your point though.

For most things there is an alternative but the one I keep looking at is locks. You may want to check support for any locks with HC2.

Also check if you trust the security of the other controllers that have support as you may decide z-wave locks is not a good idea just now anyway.

HC2 does not support locks at all as far as I know, for the time being it is not an issue for me personally since it is not very secure, probably with zwave plus they plan on fixing that and then maybe Fibaro will want to support them.

I hope more will contribute with some issues they faced and what was the best solution. I am mainly concerned with stability since the issue of dead devices is making me weary regarding any installation business, I do not want to be forced to keep maintaining any network I set up. This issue needs a practical solution since most scripts seem to only make it worse with time and causing zwave to fully come to a halt and require a hardware reboot.
