Has anyone already seen this awesome Kickstarter project called Homey?

It's basically an all-in-one wireless device, built entirely for home automation using voice control. And yes, it also includes Z-Wave!

This thing can really make your home automation easier, even more usable and simply smarter. I'm wondering if it will be able to replace my Fibaro HC2.

In any case, I've ordered one. Just curious if anyone else here has stumbled upon it already and what you think about it.

Very nice:

Multilanguage

Because not everyone is a native English speaker, Homey is multi-language. At first we support English, Dutch, SPANISH and French, and more languages will be added later on, prioritized by our backer's locations.

I use something similar called voxcommando.

I tried to ge one in start of 2014.

There was a project prior to Homey based on AVM Fritz!Box and an USB-Stick.

Than they cancelled the project and decided to make Homey.

Asking per Mail they say that there would be first version on september.

I have had a VerLite and now HC2.

Vera is developping UI6 and now UI7 without releasing.

They take a long long time.

I hope Fibaro is better and quicker.

The UI is much more better than Vera.

So I think Homey will last a long long time till they have a stable version supporting all Z-Wave components and all the things Vera and Fibaro have.

This is basically just a raspberry with some transmitters and a piece of node.js code... It seems like they have some really good ideas, but I am not sure they will be able to deliver on it... Especially with all that communication being handled by something like a raspberry based project.

Should this be done properly, you need more powerful hardware... I'm thinking something Intel NUC based might be the right thing... It will be more expensive, but as I've pointed towards before, home automation isn't cheap, so why skimp on the controller?!

Arias, how do you use this sw for HA, through VERA or only for multimedia purposes coupled with XBMC or others?
