How to put a child lock for an Wall plug or Relay?

WiYantra

Question

Hi Forum,

I was looking for a solution like, giving a password or Pin to a device such as wallplug, relay etc., so that when ever it is turned ON through smart phone or iPad or Tablet it should not turn ON immediately, it should ask for an password or pin. So that we restrict children to operate particular devices.

How can i do that?

I have seen an option called "PIN" in device advance settings->Controlled device menu, find in the screen shot attached, when i select this option it has displayed User and Find Device blocks, does anyone know about these blocks refers.

I have tried by putting the user name, but nothing i figure out.

if anyone have an idea please share.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Is it not possible to PIN protect a Device?

I know it can be done on a scene, but I want do have a device, like a wall plug PIN protected.

The wall plug has a parameter 1 that prevents turning the relay on or off.

What I would do in all other instances is instead to set up a user in the fibaro system. If the user cannot access the device, he/she cannot control it.

Hi, thanks. I know of this function, and it suffice in most occasions. However I prefer if it was possible for me as an "administrator" to turn the relay on/off after entering a pin. In Domoticz you can "protect" all devices and a password/PIN must be entered to be able to operate the device.

No, you can't do that, as far as I know. However, what you can do is set up an ON and OFF scene for the device. Scenes can be PIN protected. Then disable direct access to the device for the user (but enable access to the scene). Should work basically the same, although it's very much untested. I have not tried it myself.
