Questions about PUSH/SMS and attaching photos

Question

Posted

Hi All.

Just a quick few questions for you more advanced users.

I've set up an Alarm which will, in the event of the motion sensors in basement being breached, set off an alarm, turn some lights on and send either PUSH/Email Notifications.

1) What I want to know is (not knowing much about PUSH) is where in iOS do they go after you acknowledge it?

2) Can you attach photos from a connected camera in the house to the email/push?

3) Is there any way to actually send an SMS yet using LUA or something like that i.e. I would like to send an SMS to a landline UK number. I believe the Fibaro SMS doesn't work yet here so is there a code way to do it using LUA/PHP or something like that?

All help very much appreciated.

KR, Dave

I guess no.

I would set the camera to upload images via FTP to webserver, and attach to message (SMS / email) direct url to recent images.

    Hi Rantta,

Thanks for the reply and I understand what you mean. Not entirely sure how to link a URL to the push notification (though I do know how to FTP the image) but I will look into it

    2) Yes you can (email) via alarm panel (send screens). I use it with a couple of y-cam cameras and a wanscam (foscam clone).

    Hi Boerremk,

How exactly? I don't see anywhere that I can attach photos from my Foscam 8910?

i.e. Alarm goes off, turns on lights, shows camera feed and gives me Panic button options to send SMS/Email/PUSH but I can't see how to attach a snapshot from the Foscam by default so when I press Panic button it does it automatically.

    Any help appreciated

    Dave

PS I notice on iPad app that there is a 'blue iris' icon and a 'rec' icon but they don't seem to do much and I can't see how to configure them tbh

In your camera configuration you have to fill in the jpeg path. For the y-cam it is snapshot.jpg and for the wanscam it is snapshot.cgi. For the foscam I think it should also be snapshot.cgi, but i'm not sure. If this is correct configured then it should work.

Ah right! That'll probably be why it's not working.....that's the one thing that isn't working on mine. All the PT works but the camera icon (snapshot I guess) doesn't.

I'm looking at the Foscam API but it seems to be right! Something's obviously not though.

    I shall perservere, cheers
