HCL: Polling dead nodes

Question

Posted

Under configuration/z-wave network there is an option 'Polling dead devices:'. If ticked what does it do exactly?

If the system detects a dead node why doesn't HCL try to wake it up three times before marking such a device 'dead'. Wouldn't that help a lot to stabilize the network and minimize the number of dead nodes?

You can use a script to do that.

That's how i do it but anyway dead nodes should not appear in your network.

There's always a reason for that and mostly the device is to far away from you HC2.

But it can be another reason.....not properly configured etc....

Sure but I am using HCL - so I can't use scripts.... Or is there a way to create a scene using the block elements?

It tries to poll devices even when they are dead, which may wake them up. But it can also cause some additional traffic in Z-wave network due to rediscovering of mesh.
