Can someone at Fibaro please advise on RS232 CR please?

There's a post in the Power Users forum which I revived from a year ago (but no answers there either tbh) as I could really do with an answer or some help here.

To cut to the chase I have a GC IP2Serial iTach unit connected up and have successfully turned on/off etc etc my Onkyo TX-SR705 receiver using GC's iTest using following commands

1) "!1PWR01" as literal string but with checkbox to 'append' CR on end of it

2) "!1PWR01\x0D" as mixed string without checkbox appended on at end.

Both of these work no problem and it conforms to receiver's standard of asking for command plus "0x0D" [CR] or "0x0D0x0A" [LF] as the Carriage return.

However when I try to do the above in HC2 (much like the post from a year ago in PU forums) using a virtual device nothing happens at all. So I try 1) as string with CR on end and tick box to wait for response or 2) as Hex format entirely and uncheck box to wait. No matter what I do I cannot get the amp to turn on as it will do through iTest. Believe me I have spent days trying different versions of CR but with no luck.

PLEASE help me out otherwise this box is pretty much useless. There must either be a bug here or something I'm missing that is already known.

KR, Dave

Come on someone...please?!

I can't be the only person who this has affected, surely, so someone must know if I'm barking up the wrong tree or it wont work etc etc.

Help, again, much appreciated.

Did you find a solution yet? I happen to have exact the same problem. The commands seem to work from the Itest application, but cannot get them to work from the HC2 virtual device.

I had the same problem and a simple reboot of the HC2 solved it - it seems that sometimes virtual devices don't send the RS232 commands properly through an itach flex until the HC2 has been rebooted.
