Learning mode error. Try again.

Question

Posted

Get the error "Learning mode error. Try again." when adding the universal sensor.

This happens when I remove and add it again after adding och changing temp probes, anyone else having or had this issue?

Cant figure it out completely but it seems to be related to the location of the device since if I take the same one to a different location it works and then the following day it might work from the original location again.

Try to include the universal sensor at a location and try not to shift it somewhere else.

Always do but the odd thing is that this happens when it is in the same location after adding or removing a temp probe.

Have one that was showing 0 degrees always so replaced it and now I get that error again while I can add my new flood sensor without any issues. Same applied, at least yesterday, if I tried adding my spare universal sensor in the same location so there is no fault in the unit itself.

    Very odd behavior!

I test all probes on my spare universal sensor before using them, that usually does the trick...

Gonna try some more stuff first, was curious if there were anyone else with similar problems or experience.

It's the wall plug that is not for sale in Sweden atm, all other products are still ok from what I know.

If anyone is in the similar situation this issue seems to be due to disturbance in the communication with the HCL/HC2, even though there is coverage for adding and deleting units something fails. When I took the HCL to the universal sensor and added it everything worked as expected.

Hi j-t, all devices should be added to HC in direct range of the controller and then moved.

What is the whole use of network wide inclusion then?

It's been a norm that you should add devices into hc2 before moving.

I have a external antenna so have direct coverage of all devices, except for 2, in my whole house so can add them where I have installed them.

This device was previously added in the same location 4 times without any issues at all so there must be some external disturbance or similar since I have not changed any of the variables.

    Hi,

Thank you for the advice but when you have a universal sensor with DS18B20 on the end of a 15 meter cable then that is not possible

It is much easier to move the HC to it.

There is no such function, devices can only be added in direct range of a controller.
