Trigger scenes manually

Question

Posted

Hi All,

I have some dimmers and various outside lights etc. that I want to set to run via a scene, but I want to just switch the scene on, not necessarily by a separate switch, but just by a toggle or similar on the HC2.

I don't know any LUA, so wondered if there is a way to do this with blocks?

Basically I want a simple scene called "relaxed evening" or similar, which when triggered will turn on 4 lamps at 50% and turn on some outside lights (LED so on full). The lamps are all separate and work independently of each other, so I don't want an association that makes them all come on if one is operated.

Any help would be appreciated.

Many thanks.

Ray.

palomaray,

You can simply use Run button. It will run the scene content omitting all conditions.

Murnko, Thanks for your reply. I understand that and I do have the scene running by using the "run" button. However, my point is that this is a scene that I want to ONLY run via a manual trigger such as the run button.

I am very new to setting up scenes, and need to understand how I can implement this without a global variable, timer or other device/trigger activation the scene.

    Many thanks

Akater, thank you for that. I assumed it would be a work around of some sort but didn't really know where to start.

I switched to Fibaro from Homeseer a couple of years ago, and on that system you could just set up a scene which was manual activation only with no need for any other triggers or variables. For example I had a "bed time" scene, which could be triggered at any time as bed times obviously change, and that would switch on the bedside lamps and turn off the outside lights, then 2 minutes later turn off all the downstairs lights and lamps.

I guess this is all doable in LUA but I haven't had any experience with that, so suspect I'm going to have to learn it at some point to make things like this readily achievable.

    Many thanks.
