Hi All,

Simple question, can I use a fibaro dimmer switch as a simple wireless switch to command 2 other fibaro switches?

I was thinking of doing:

- live and neutral directly to the fibaro switch (from a plug for example)

- 2 gang switch connected to Sx S1 and S2

I would then configure the dimmer to switch on child devices for S1 and S2.

Would that work?

Thanks

sorry but what do you mean by software association?

The idea is to put a switch on the wall and the dimmer will be controlled by HC2

I'm fairly certain you would burn the dimmer if you connect it directly to live and neutral, as there will be no load in between (i.e. a resistor). Normally, the bulb would function as your resistor, providing a relatively low current through the circuitry. but connecting the live and neutral lead directly will only five you the internal resistance of the dimmer to limit the current. So you are basically shorting your grid.

You could try putting a BIG resistor between the neutral and the outlet from the dimmer (I'd say 10k-100k Ohm with a sufficient power rating - but you need to calculate) to give a suitable current through the dimmer. But then you also have some consumption on you dimmer - so a battery operated switch might be a better bet anyway.

jeje87a, Or you can just use UBS module to and perform actions or even activate scenes with its inputs.

    Thanks for your answers.

If I understand correctly the 2 wire connection (see below) would not work either if I do not put anything on the O and only do a bridge between O and N?

If not I might go for the BS but it needs to be powered.

Figure 2 is what I have for all my dimmers: 1 live in and 1 live out to the led (with a bridge between O and N)

    aah i see

i was confused with the blue collor

all neutral wires in the Netherlands must be blue

live is brown and switched live is black

i saw the same picture on a dutch webshop owner, that person doesntt know that this is not allowed in the netherlands

Thanks, do you think it would work without connection any led/lamp? (just living the bridge between O and N)

jeje87a, you do not need to connect "O" at all, just connect L to live wire and N to neutral one. Bridging O to N will make a short circuit.
