Question about Fibaro Door/Win Sensors Incl/Exclu

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I recently bought a few of these and easily managed to install the first one as a test so that I could see, before fitted, how far apart they can be before triggering etc.

My question is this, as I know some report issues of inclusion etc;

To include I made sure cover was on, put magnet next to it and simply pushed the outside casing three times to push the TMP button on the back of the unit.

However, lets say weve done this successfully and then install it on door. What happens if you have problems (of whatever kind) in future and are forced to exclude/invlude again....how would one do it? Take cover off and press TMP three tomes?

Im worried that Id have to pull it off the door and therefore ruin the sticky pad?! Just looking for some advice before I decide how to affix to doors etc.

KR, Dave:)

Yes.

You can take cover off and press tamper button inside.

this does not work... excluding might work, but including by pushing tamper button is impossible.

stevenvd, it works.

Tamper on cover and the one inside D/W Sensor is linked serially and when one of them is pressed another one can be used for sending node info (so it is possible to use both of them in inclusion).

    Hi Gents,

    Thanks for replies.

So am I assuming the following is correct:

As long as either '1' button is pushed down the other will allow inclusion?

Ie Cover ON and click three on rear TMP

Cover OFF (making sure rear pushed against door/window) and push internal TMP 3x

Yes? Or do you still think that not work Steven?

I did option A to include no issues first time. Its the once attached im worried about.

    Ta, Dave:)

i can confirm it works, though i must say of all the zwave products i have doorsenser is most cumbersom. Mostly inc/excl works perfectly for door/windows sensor. but when for some reason it doesnt work its a real P.I.T.A.

increasing the mesh (wallplug or whatever non batt) allways seem to be the easy answer and problems go away.

Just paste the door sensor on the door and click on the door sensor as and when you want to include/exclude the sensor. The button will be facing the door itself so you will just press the door sensor against the door. No opening of cover needed. What's so cumbersome?

dw89, process of inclusion that you described is valid. However keep in mind, that sensor needs to be in direct range of controller when included, no routing is allowed here. That may be hard to achieve with already mounted device.

    Thats the cumbersom part:)

Whilst 'cumbersome' its not the end of the world us it as long as you dont have to remove the door sensor.....much easier, after all, to unplug the hc2, use a long cat5e cable (to be fair I have a lot of outlets round the house) and plug it in near the door sensor you want to exclude/include.

Just what Id do anyway....now that I know i dont have to take it off!

Doesn't that potentially mess up your network when your HC2 suddenly is in a different place and all routes are wrong?

Well I cant say for certain but Ive done it a few times without an issue and you can reset all the zwave routing etc in the zwave config tab I believe.
