copy the backup folder from one Fibaro pendrive to the other.

Then start the second box in restore, mode with copied pendrive connected.

Upgrade to desiderd version, then you will see your backuo and you will be abple to restore all from another HC2.

I did it myself when I got a replacement HC2. It works perfectly.

I assume that you did this staying on the same version of HC2? I believe you cannot restore to a newer HC2 version. Backups are incompatible, and won't show on an HC2 with beta?

Now we only need to be allowed to post how to make a backup usb and we can avoid anybody getting cross when their usb drive fails. Save all these angry posts and all that bad press and lost sales and customers.

A nice tutorial or lots of nasty flaming and name calling.

Would seem a simple choice?

Simple? No Robert, no. Fibaro insists...

Well they will insist with fewer and fewer customers then.

This round cost them the first person that ever helped me get my HC2 working. He had been a loyal customer for years but has now left and bought something else.

Keep on insisting guys. Great way to destroy your business.

Backup the USB void the warranty or is against Fibaro rules?

I don't think so...

Just to explain better:

The copy of the backups works with any version of HC2, the important is that:

- if you upgrade your HC2 and after connect the copied pendrive, then you will not see the backups.

- If you change the pendrives between two HC2 with same version, you will not see the backups

Probably in the first start of HC2, brand new or after restore, they associate the pendrive with HC2.. SO:

- YOU MUST START YOUR SECOND HC2 FROM RESTORE, WITH COPYIED USB RESTORE PENDRIVE CONNECTED, OTHERWISE THE HC2 WILL NOT SHOW THE BACKUPS!!!

YOU CAN SEE THE BACKUPS ONLY WITH THE CORRECT VERSION LOADED, SO TO RESTORE MY 3.591 BETA OR 3.590 I INSERTED MY COPIED PENDRIVE, I RESTORED MY NEW HC2 FROM 0, I UPGRADED TO 3.590 AND THEN I COULD SEE MY BACKUPS.

My second pendrive was a fibaro one, from my brand new HC2.

I just copyied the backup folder, because the new HC2 has different system files on the pendrive you only need your backup folder to restore to another HC2.

Simply, isn't it?

Hope to help someone, I have my backup folder copied on my MAC and on my DROPBOX for safety.

Remove and insert your pendrive with HC2 off will not cause any problem, Anyway I will not be responsible if you damage something! (is so simple that is almost impossible to make damages)

SO JOMPA: JUST COPY THE BACKUP FOLDER ON THE NEW HC2 PENDRIVE AND START FROM RESTORE, YOU WILL BE ABLE TO RESTORE A EXACT CLONE OF YOUR HC2

You can see backups only with correct version loaded, is what you say. So you cannot have a stable version, move the stick with backups to a new beta version, and then restore, which is what OP wanted?

to restore a backuo you should run the same version... or very near version... for example in 3.590 stable you can see 3.590 and 3.591 beta backup.. so if from the new beta you cannot see your old beta backup, you need to restore to the nearest stable..
