Z-Wave a battery powered device

Question

Posted

Hi Everyone,

Has anyone been able to add a z-wave on/off switch to a battery powered device?

For example, I have a few battery operated LED lights which I'd like to use as part of my alarm system. Can I add a z-wave item into the battery pack (or break open the light and solder on) to turn on/off the light?

Thanks,

Andrew

In that case, you will still have to power up your switch module, just that sx s1 s2 will be connected to your battery powered device. Since power is already to your switch module, might as well give power to your LED lights as well.
