cannot enter recovery - help needed

Hi,

My fibaro is not entering recovery any more, when i start it with the + button pressed, it starts booting and then when all leds are on it stays there like it is frozen.

any suggestions how to fix it? support never answered my mail (3-4 days now)

Hello Billias,

unplug your box, press the 2 buttons, plug it keeping the 2 buttons pressed, and relase the 2 buttons at the same time after less then 2 secondes. Logging to your hc. You should enter un recovery.

I had the same problem. All LED lights were on as if they were frozen. I waited a good while, and then the LED lights disappeared/became normal and I could log into recovery mode.

    Also had this problem, all leds light up like it's frozen, but after a while, the recovery led, internet and power where the only ones that were lit. A half hours seems a bit long though

    Billias, such problem might have multiple reasons. Could you please send me PM with number of your case with support? I will check its status immediately and investigate reason it was delayed.

    This worked for me:

    Recovery mode. Also problems not reachable etc but these steps.

    Hold + brings back fixed ip, (192.168.81.1) laptop connect to it in that range. Try log in on hc2. If that works. Plug out cable - > hold + - > plug back in cable while holding +. Leds go on (all one by one). Wait 15 min or longer and only + and other led is on. Try to connect fixed ip. If not working press + few seconds again.

    Or try procedure all over

    Recover all, then have old release. After log in wait to you can update 3.540 again

    Many of new users get confused on how long should + button should be pressed to get into Recovery mode. As pressing too long will make HC2 static IP mode.

    I suggest, there should be 2 different ways to bring hC2 to recovery and static IP mode.

    Example: Pressing both buttons(Power and Recovery) should bring it to Static IP and pressing + button to Recovery mode.

    To Team, Its just an Idea. Though its not a serious issue.

    My HC2 is not able to enter to recovery mode as well, support is simply non-existent (critical issue, no any feedback).

    shapa, I contacted support team and your case is being taken care of, you will receive feedback soon. Please notice that we do not work on weekends, therefore reply on Mondays can be a little delayed, since support need to answer all questions that pilled up from last two days.

    Sorry, it's not a support, it's a joke.

    Please train your support personnel properly. Basic issue with corrupted extfs + worn out flash. Specially asked them to check recovery partition for corruption, they ignored that.

    100% sure basic dmesg / syslogs will show a lot of I/O errors. R/O fsck is also very helpful.

    Now I'm really expecting you'll send me a replacement USB key ASAP, as well as provide full instructions how to import copied backups to the new key - I don't have any time to be a lab mule.

    If this problem is not fixed until Monday Ill take all the products I have and Ill force the reseller to pay full refund. And yes, I can do that under Swedish law.

    I have a problem: When I click on save Backup it does not save it, clock start spinning but only for one-two sec. also when i try to get in recovery mode after "diodes will turn ON sequentially, starting from the left hand side" center stop doing nothing. All diodes is glow. I wate for 10 or even more min. And even after that its unposible to get in recovery mode(i try to set up manualy static ip via pressing + for long time, but it gives me nothing). And nothing is happen. And one more problem: sometimes it`s unposible to seave or change scenes.

    What it can be and how can i fixed it?"

    Sorry, but you have completely misunderstood swedish law.

    Fibaro opens on monday again as today is during the weekend as you probably know. Contact support and let them fix your issue if you don't think anybode here can help. Being rude is the last things that helps.

    Fibaro opens on monday again as today is during the weekend as you probably know. Contact support and let them fix your issue if you don't think anybode here can help. Being rude is the last things that helps.

    I am pretty sure about the Swedish law. A Master of Law from the Faculty of Law at Stockholms Universitet combined with long experience from both legal and IT makes me nightmare do deal with (even my wife agrees on that...)

    Konsumentköplagen (Konsumentköplag (1990:932)) is mandatory and thus can not be circumvented by contracts (§3). Not only do I have the right to return this and get my money back (§22) if the product is not as advertised (§19), but I can actually purchase an equivalent product at a higher cost and force the reseller to pay the difference (§33).

    Furthermore, Webhallen is open every day of the week, so you are wrong on that point too.

    However, I do agree with you that rudeness does not get you anywhere, and if my post came out as rude, I apologise. It´s just that I´ve spent too many hours trying to fix things that should not have been broken in the very first place.
