More details about DSC Plugin

Hi:

I've been trying to find more details about the DSC plugin of the 3.907 beta firmware.

There is not much information in the forum regarding to that:

Which DSC models are supported?

Which kind of hardware interface is needed in order to connect the alarm panel to the HC2? I suppose it should be via LAN? in that case, for which kind of interface was the plugin designed? I tried with Envisalink3 without luck.... someone posted that the panel should be connecte through a Global Cache device, but there are no details about the specific device and how to configure it.

You need the DSC IT-100 Communication module. This is wired directly to the keybus of the the alarm panel. You will need to rescan the panel (identification) for keypads and expansion modules for the panel to see the module.

This device is RS-232 so you will need an IP-Serial converter such as the Global Cache IP-SR

As far as I am aware this is only available for the Power Series DSC panels

Stephan Smit, for now plugins are only available in 4.X which is release for HC2 only. However after premiere of stable version on that platform, it will be "ported" to HCL.

Can i use informtion from DSC (PIR, Windows sensors) to triger a scene - Switch lights for example ?

I can't test by my self now, but next week i should to install Alarm system and if it is possible i will put additional PIR detectors for this purpose.

kmeta, yes, it allows use of DSC sensors in scenes.

I cant say for sure but I got EnvisaLink and I added it. First it just disappeared after adding it but now I found a button with hidden units and in there everthing was. All my zones. There was a checkbox for showing that zone. After checking it I can see it in my main window.

Can you tell us more about how did you manage to get it to work?

Since I am not home I havent have the chance to try this out. Try out meaning that I cant see if fx I am open a door it really takes it as a breach.

But what I can tell you is that I added the plugin. Added all setting....ip nr, port, and code for the alarm (envisaLink) Then all my zones was visible in the plugin. When I Went out of the plugin and in again they where all gone.

From here I Went to the Units panel. At the end of the menu there is show hidden button. I Went in there and found all my zones. If I then Went into the zone 1 fx there was a checkbox show in house. Save and you should be able to see it out in the main window (Your home).

That is how far I have come. I havent tested it yet but will do tomorrow when I arrive home.

I have know tried every settings in this plugin but I can't get it to alarm. One thing that I also have seen is that if you take add device inside one of the sensors you can't attach it. For example if it is breach you want a lamp to go on. You can't add it. So either it doesn't work at all with envisa or the plugin isn't finished.

Since it show up and everything connects ok with envisa I think the plugin isn't finished. Would be great if Fibaro could answer that question.

I have installed the DSC plugin, but i get the following message. What do i need to do?

Why does it need a partition named Fibaro?

I have the same problem as you Maxxar.

I have tried to change partition name both in the alarm system and in HC2, restarted the alarm system, update DATAcom info m.m nothing will make it work.

I have named all zones in the alarm system, and I think when I add the control panel in HC2 the zone names should follow, because the IT-100 is connected on the DATAcom bus.

if create a virtual device via Envisalink vorks fine (only arm and disrm the sistem)

Can somebody confrim which model of DSC alarm panel will work seamlessly with Fibaro V4.33?

When I contacted Fibaro they said they only support IT100 and not EnvisaLink. I am in the start of connecting my IT100 so I can't tell if it will work yet. I do know that envisalink don't work.

So do we have to have DSC power series alarm system + IT 100 and  Global Cache IP-SR in order to integrate the alarm system to the HC2? Has anybody tested it already?
