HCL Scene ideas

Question

Posted

Hi, I'm new at working with fibaro.. I own a HCL, a few dimmers, some sensors and such.. My problem is that I know the HCL can do a lot of stuf, with only my knowledge of block programming as a limit...

BUT I can't seem to find anywhere where it is possible to share ideas and examples of block scenes..

SO I hope that those of You owning a HCL, will share Your ideas and Your scenes, with me and other owners of a HCL in this forum.

I'll start by sharing af simple little scene, that turns on one of my light in the living room, when the sensor detects movement. The light is turned on at 30% and turned off again after 2 minutes.

This scene help my kids getting from their room into the our bedroom at night without bumping in to everything

Perhaps you could share what you wanna do and we could guide you slowly for you to pick up block programming.

Well, you do get sort of limited by the fact that your scenes must be run as blocks. I don't know how blocks work, but one thing that I immediately spot, is the fact that it has a hard stop after 120 seconds. This is irritating if you need to be in the room for any longer.

Anway, here are a few of the things I'm using which might be of interest:

I've set up my lights to switch on when the room is breached and then slowly dim out after 60 or 120 seconds - but if motion is detected, then it will reset the timer thus keeping the light on until you have been out of the room for the timeout. For instance, in our kitchen, I have an LED strip in the kitchen which always switches on when you walk in and turn off after 120 secs of inactivity. So if you go out and make a leverpostejsmad, then you might be able to do it in 120 secs or less, but if you need to prepare dinner, then 120 secs is far too little. So the timer in the scene will reset every time the motion sensor registers a breach.

Another nice feature is light level activation. In the same kitchen, I have a separate LED strip in the edge of the ceiling and a light over our dinner table (one of them). The LED strip creates a nice indirect ambient lighting in lower level ambient light conditions, and therefore it will switch on when motion is registered AND the light level is beneath a threshold of 100 LUX. The lamp over the dinner table, though, is more powerful and will switch on only when the light level goes below 50 lux (or you switch it on manually).

Dalle1985: How do you reset the timer on motion on a HCL? Sounds like something only possible on HC2 or?

Is it possible to kill a scene with the blocks? Because then you could have the 120 second delay, but if motion is detected, it kills all instances of the scene and then restarts it. The device won't react to getting a turnOn command when it is already on, but the turnOff will be delayed by 120 seconds.

Dalle1985, you can't abort scene in block diagrams mode.

But whats the answer? How do you reset the sensor so the light will be on in the time your sensor registers a breach?
