Those who have new zwave engine in new Betas...does

Question

Posted

I like many others have experienced constant issues with Fibaro motion sensor turning into a temp sensor, getting stuck on tamper etc etc etc

I have tried all the possible 'fixes' but it still messes them up from time to time and gives false triggers, gets stuck on tamper etc etc.

So, I and others have been told that it will be fixed in whatever new release with the new wave engine. So, can someone who has a new Beta with this new engine tell me whether it is actually fixed now or not?? I.e. For definite.

I know that it now has seismic sensor etc which is all lovely (though it worries me as it's shoving yet more data to HC2) but I still want to know whether these bugs are fixed or not.

Can someone/people please advise us still stuck on the 'stable' 3.590?

KR, Dave

I upgraded to find the answer to this question myself but the beta is so broken that I can't even tell if this bug still exists or not.

dw89,

I've got exactly the same issues with sensors. One of things which was driving me crazy.

Self-changing sensors (to temp / lux / etc) and freezing motion detection.

New software is so broken that it is not possible to talk seriously about that, but virtually all my sensors stopped to work when I've tried to upgrade.

Theoretically, the issue should be fixed by the new engine, but it will take another year or two to stabilise v4 - in fact, it is a complete rewrite of code from scratch, that's why there are so many bugs.

They didn't fixed them in 2+ years with a previous software branch...

That was one if e few things the new version actually FIXEd for me. My devices are back to what they should be, and no "type changes" since then. Statistically I should have seen a few already.

    Hi Guys,

Thanks for the replies. I have been watching your threads (shapa) with interest (ie Indigo).

I read with interest that you say it seems fixed but I assume (I've not seen any) that there's no date for any stable release (fantastic not having a clue what's going on as a customer) been given and that, with the amount of bugs I've seen/read about that it could indeed be years before it's all 'stable'. Sad to say I can foresee it's all going to have to go back as I can't wait that long nor put up with the constant issues. Can you 'imagine' what somebody with zero IT/tech knowledge would do!!!!!

I like yourselves have a security system that doesn't work, sensors that change at will and cause havoc with my scenes (last night another sensor turned into a temp sensor, which due to scene and lux going mad, turned off all my equipment and lights in the house, ruined a TV recording and made my wife drop a plate of food in complete darkness). This has all been known about for ages and yet do we see any kind of patch to fix it until we wait for the mythical stable v4? No. Nor even some information to tell us when it's going to be fixed...other than v4. That's not to mention all the other minor bugs in this 'stable' release. Appauling Omnishambles.

Yet Fibaro don't really seem to care at all. I read yesterday that J. Nowacki is QA!!!!! Love to be in those meetings....if they have any.

dw89, I have never claimed to be part of QA team, please get your facts straight before posting such information.

It doesn't really help bashing individuals at Fibaro guys; very uncool.

/emoticons/default_icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" /> Really? Perhaps I should call that a 'stable' comment then.

Whether or not I got it wrong (fair enough, it's A. Socha) the fact is that I have PAID you/you're company (whom you work for) for hardware/software which doesn't do what it should do. You leave us in the dark and are surprised when we get fed up. So it is normal to vent. So if you get it in the ear because of the above well, that's tough. Having a go at me, a customer, in such a manner is appalling and typical of Fibaro it seems rather than fixing the issues with a patch of some sort now or even some damn information.

Remember....I pay you to give me what I paid for, so if it doesn't work you'll get the fall out. I don't get paid squat by you so you should perhaps keep your fingers away from the keyboard when you have a bad day or don't like what you hear.....you're still getting paid for things that don't work.

So, when am I going to have some 'stable' software that works with motion sensors? This month, next month, next six months, 2016? When? Even the worst companies in the world have timelines

    I agree with dw89.

I simply cannot believe how * Fibaro are at QC and customer service.

I hardly ever post here, but I bet I'm part of a silent majority of customers who've spent thousands on Fibaro equipment and don't even bother complaining anymore.

These guys don't deserve to be in business.

I tell you what I have noticed since 1 month here and around the world in every forum.

Before People were complaining about unsolved problems (I don't want to start talking about the very beginning or we will continue in the war) and that's it !

However now, since the release of this infamous Beta 4.XXX, it is another story...

I have never seen in my life such a huge unanimity everywhere in many forums, in many different country.

I know even people who are trying to get a group to start a judicial case in Europe.

For me, I must admit, I still believe in Fibaro, because you have not noticed how fast developement Team respond to the BUG TRACKER ! It is insane ! And there are thousand of bugs there... Of course they don't answer to all the bug but they are here and you can see them working on many stuff...

But it seems that they are overwhelmed about the situation and about they decision of changing everything...

Putting BETA on this 4.XXX is the worst thing they have done... as for me it is an ALPHA...there is a real communication problem... but when you want to be as close as they are with their customers that's the deal...

When I notice a Fibaro team member answering a little bit hard (even if people are harrassig them with complains) that is not a good point as it looks like for me as a failure, a lost war, like there is nothing to do anymore but complaining about the complains and I hope this is just a simple human reaction not the result of their inability

For my part, I'm just a simple customer who spent more than 5000 Euros (90% in fibaro) really afraid about his investment and I just hope that we won't see any international judicial proceedings starting somewhere as it will vanish our hope of development progress...

Just do as me, give all the informations you can gather and post them in the bug tracker section and help fibaro as best as you can...

Complaining here, since the beginning of the forum, has never changed anything in Fibaro work... I must admit I'm afraid that it won't change anything today...

    Peace
