HomeKit - iOS 8.0

yassinex

Question

Hi,

With the addition of HomeKit Framework in the latest iOS 8. It would be great if the Fibaro iOS App 'll support this new API. We can Use Siri to control the different devices. It has better voice recognition especially in multilanguage ( but I like Lili too

yassinex, we consider every opportunity to expand possibilities of our system, integration with Homekit may be such occasion. However we must wait a little longer to be sure in which direction new Apple framework will go

Other companies already decided to support it and will deliver the experience within short time (like Philips, Netatmo, Honeywell, Osram and many others).

Fibaro will again stand behind if they just wait.

It can't be that hard to support. Just make it beta like the rest of your software... or wait Apple doesn't accept buggy software. Ok it's probably not going to happen any time soon then.

, now the first Apple HomeKit have been announced today and Apple is expected to release the 3rd generation Apple TV at the WWDC 2015 next week, can you provide a bit more information on where Fibaro stand in supporting or integrating Apple's platform?

Much appreciated. Thank you.

I think you meant 4th generation Apple TV cause I am already using 3rd generation Apple TV currently.

Very interested in subj too.

Speaking about HomeKit:

1. At the WWDC 2015 won't be released new Apple TV

Please login or register to see this link.

2. Apple TV (even 3d gen) can be used as central hub for HomeKit devices

If you have an Apple TV (3rd generation or later) with software version 7.0 or later, you can control your HomeKit-enabled accessories when you're away from home using your iOS device.

3. Some HomeKit compatible devices already on the market

4. It seems that in IOS 9 we'll see official Apple app Home

HomeKit devices will be very strong competitor for @Fibaro. What are your plans in integrating with Apple platform? As for me main questions of integration are:

1. Support of different HomeKit devices by Fibaro HC

2. Controlling of Fibaro HC by native Apple app, Siri etc.

Thanks.
