Control lighting with music

Question

Posted

Hi,

Been searching the past half hour to solutions to be able to control the lighting with some kind of software, but haven't found anything.

The affordable things I find are music controllers for RGB strips, but no software that would allow me to hack in some http api commands to turn on / off lights and change colors.

Anyone who has come across software that might do this?

Another option (but would be a lot more expensive):

Does anyone know whether it's possible to use 2 controllers with one led strip?

So connecting both the fibaro as the music controller in parallel to a strip. Both of course using the same power supply.

Tecjnically you could connect two controllers in parallel, as long as they are well designed in regards to back feed.

For myself, i guess i would choose DMX over Ethernet, or just use a Spark Core/Impee/RPi and drive WS2801 pixel strands and write my own API.
