Tamper Restore Issue

Question

Posted

Hello,

I use ZWave PC controller to test the flood and door sensor.

I's OK to receive the tamper alarm by associating devices with group 2.

For example, it sends a alarm report for a tamper warning after moving the flood sensor.

However, it doesn't send a tamper off notification after it's stable.

The same problem happens on the door contact.

If you know how to get the notification for tamper restore, please teach me how to do.

BTW, I have another smoke detection device (FGSS-001).

It sends notification message when tamper alarm and tamper restore.

It's good to know the tamper status.

Thanks in advance,

Jones

jones, unfortunately you can not do that. As you can read in Flood Sensor manual, in parameter 74: alarms from 2nd association group are not cancelled.

    Hi j.nowacki,

    Thanks for your reply.

I had read the manual of flood sensor and I know there is no hint or parameter can make the device send tamper restore.

I read the manual of Fibaro motion sensor. There is a parameter 0x18 can be set for turning on tamper restore notification.

I just wonder if there is some un-document trick to do so for flood and door devices.

    Thank you.

jones, not really, since alarm must be cancelled by device itself, it cannot be done by software.

If the alarm must be cancelled by device itself, what should I do when I received the flood tamper notification?

If I display the tamper triggered warning message on the software User Interface, I don't know when I should turn the message off.

Since flood sensor will not send a tamper restore message to the host.

Do you have any suggestion for this case?

    Thanks
