I have 2 zones with underfloor heating (water), that I would like to control via Z-wave..

Currently it is controlled by finish made system for underfloor heating involving 2 thermostats (one in each room), connected to a controlling unit which then again turns on and off the power to two 230v telestats..

My question is now.. Since i already have Fibaro motion sensors in both rooms, is it possible to use these as the thermostats and then connect a fibaro 2*1.5kw relay to turn on and off the two telestats dependent of the temperature in each room?

Sure, but validate your temperature meassurements from the motion sensor - some of them are far off and need an offset.

Next step is to create a scene which will open the telestat when the temperature drops below a threshold and close again when it goes above another threshold.

Only thing you need to ensure, is if you have a shunt circuit with your thermostats controlling the shunt aswell. Normally, the shunt is controlled by a return flow thermostat (keeping the water temperature constant on the return line to ensure as much heat is deposited in the floor as possible), but on some systems, the shunt might be controlled by the room thermostats - not extremely clever but it has been seen before. If this is the case, you need something to control the shunt valve.

Couple a months ago I finished a installation like this, but controlling 6 zones, I have 6 wavin 230v telestates and 3 2*1,5 relays. I also have 6 Fibaro motion sensors. I have linked the devices and created a heating plan. Worning like a charm

Thanks for your reply both of you.. The shunt valve is located on the shunt ifself so that should be cleared out..

And nice to know it is working somewhere else also.. Thanks a lot..
