I am currently building a new house and making a project for electricity. I want to use z-wave (fibaro becouse i allready have HC2 with some moduls) for automatisation.

Of course i want to automate everything withch is possible, lights, power supply, security, window blinds, multimedia...

So i have qustion below :

How is make batter to compose the electricity network:

1. Each floor to have own board with all z-wave devices such as dimmers and relays. The house is quite big (4 floors, more then 100 sq.m each. With sure i should to put some main powered devices between floor to repeat the signal. All moduls should be wired directly to the floor board.

or

2. To place each moduls under the switches and power socets in the rooms. In that case i should put neutral everywhere if i want to use relays.

Could you please be so kind and recommend me witch is a better option.

I also build a new house. I put on every floor one electricity panel for 120 modules, placed each single fibaro module in a plastic box, and I use one Hc for 2 floors. Like this.

I don't have any switch in the house. Just ipads placed in the walls.

In my opinion its better to choose option 2.

You better spread al the z-wave devices through your house instead of putting them in one (metal??) electricity board. It' very bad for the mesh network to put all devices on one spot. You will loose repeater functionality and will have an increased chanche of dead nodes. How about your battery powered devices, they also will need the mesh network to reach the controller. So better spread your devices.

I don't agree about that this will increase chance of dead nodes. If everything is in one place all devices will be connected better. The problem can be betwwen floors, but if i put everything in plastic boxes and place near the ladder they will have direct visibilty. About the battery devices, yes maybe i should to use few universal sensors connected to alarm system with motion detection + arduino light sensors + same time to repeat the signal.

We have DIN rail clips for that purpose:

you have to glue (with double sided tape) the fibaro to the plastic box?

that's not the way i want it,

i like the plastic boxes used by Razvan,

But indeed razvan uses nice ones...

I buy the cases from a local store.

Try to search on your local google images: "din rail box"

I don't have any dead node in 1 year. The distance it's around 15 meters.

If you look closer you'll see the antennas going out from the box.
