Hi,

I was testing the smoke sensor because it seems to me that it is very passive device. After I added it to the HC, it is showing there, but only the picture of it, no buttons like on door or motion sensor to arm it...(is that normal?)

So I gave it a try, I burn newspapper just under it, it took some time but the alarm started with the noice (wow that signal is HIGH as hell

1: shouldnt I get notification? With movement sensor, if I arm it, then I get the alarm notification to my phone. With the smoke sensor there is no way to ARM it, so I guess it should be armed all the time. Do I need to make scene for that?

2: How the hell do I turn it off. Lets say I am not home, the iron is burning, the alarm starts. I check it trough the camera, I turn off the iron and I see that there is nothing more hapennig... How do I turn the alarm off? Do I really need to come home and do it manualy?

Thanks for any advice.

PS: If you are trying this and after the alarm starts and you just throw the burning newspaper to the sink and spill the water on it, make sure there is no more fire

Milos797, Smoke Sensor is a sensor device, the only way to control its behavior is change of parameters. Also audible alarm will turn off as soon as the chamber does not detect smoke anymore. So you must eliminate source of smoke. To get notification, you need to enable it in advanced parameters.

I have no idea how to check my scene. May I believe this will work well in case of smoke?

ID 8 is a smoke sensor.

Thanks!

almj, you can test your smoke sensor by holding down its button. It will get breached and value changes to "1".
