Fire Alarm Scene

Question

Posted

Hi,

I am pretty new to Fibaro products and have just installed HC2 with some relay switches for LED lights, motion sensors and smoke detector to start of the home automation journey.

I have seen the Fibaro presentation video on smoke detector where a fire alarm scene is triggered when smoke is detected. Searching through the Advanced User Guide, this forum and the HC2 GUI (on v3.590), I am still at a loss on how to set up a Fire Alarm scene to perform basic functions like blinking lights and notify my Fibaro app on iPhone/iPad.

I have tried the alarm panel in HC2 but it does not seem to allow selection of the smoke detector as trigger device.

Is there a guide I can refer to or some advice on how I should go about doing so?

Much appreciate the help and guidance.

I have done the following:

Please login or register to see this code.

As soon as one of the smoke sensors is triggered, it executes this scene.

Of course you'll have to change the ID's of the devices to suite your specific situation, but I hope this helps you to get started.

    hvb83,

    Much appreciate the sharing.

Still not familiar with the LUA scripting but it is a good start for me to venture into.

Please do not hesitate to ask in case you get stuck, I'm also learning by doing it and in no way a pro!

    hi hvb83,

Can you tell a bit more about what devices you have with ID# 28 and 76 to which to send push notifications and how you use the fibaro:call command to push those messages?

    Thanks.

Those are the iPhones of me and the GF, but I assume it will be the same for Android.

You can download the HC2 Toolkit of Krikroff to find easily the ID, "Data"->"Get Devices" or by simply using /api/devices

You can change the message to meet your requirements, simply change the wording.

This is a good Lua script for turning things on and off.

In case of fire it will be good also to use association.

Association will always work even when the HC2/HCL is down.

All my smook sensors are also associated to the two sirens in my house.

Just use the Group ID 1 and select the sirens.

TANE, is your siren standalone or with security system?

I am thinking of having a simple siren so that in event of fire, it will light up and sound off adequately to alert the building's security guard (in case no one is home).

    Hi Tane,

See you mention 2 sirens, but have 3 device id's in the association?

    TANE

Which sirens are you using? I can't get my Vision siren to go off if associated to 1st group.

    Hi Tane,

See you mention 2 sirens, but have 3 device id's in the association?

First id is HC2's, you need to put it there to see the value of the smoke sensor.

At the moment only blinking...hope in the future more when all the options available.

I'm using the Aeon and Vision. sirens.

Flash light of both is just to weak to do something with it.

You can better user the Fibaro option for blinking the lights or turn on a RGB with LDP program.

I'm using the Aeon and Vision. sirens.

What did you have to do to make sirens trigger with just associations?

Did you set any special parameters?

Smook sensor are associated to the sirens. This will just turn on.

For the dimmers you have to use the Fibaro alarm option EMERGENCY LIGHTS

    TANE:

Siren and lights has been associated.

Parameter 5 is "BASIC_SET command frame"

    Parameter 7 is 255.

is it possible to perform a fire alarm test by pressing the button somehow? or do i need to put something under that is actually burning?

Press the b button for more than 5s, the smoke sensor will perform a fire alarm test.
