Fibaro 5(8) in 1 with Universal Sensor

Recommended Posts

i just make 5in1 sensor+alarm with fibaro universal sensor.

Idea is to use PIR from alarm system for Movement detection and power, for test purpose i use PIR sensor for Aurdino ~ 1,50 Euro.

For light sensor i use also Aurdio light sensor ~2,50 Euro.

For gas detector MQ-2 Gas Sensor Module Smoke Methane Butane Detection ~ 1,50 Euro.

7401 Quad NAND chip ~ 0,10 Euro.

Temperature sensor DS18B20 ~ 2,5 Euro (you can use up to 4).

For alarm can be used siren or can use tamper of Alarm system - alarm signal is only when Gas sensor is breached (alarm will be work also w/o controller).

Disadvantages is that you can't see how much LUX and CO2 Value at the moment is in the room. And also you cannot detect motion in the room if is not dark (you can do it w/o Gas detector, just connect PIR and Light sensor separately). But really most of the users do not care about LUX value, they need in the dark when motion persist to turn on light, when Smoke Methane Butan detected to turn on alarm.

You can see the idea and beta realization on breadboard. When i have time will connect everything to existing alarm system (PIR sensor)

This is a very good use of the Universal Sensor. I am connecting some MQ Gas Sensors to the RGBW and came across this article when doing some research.

Well Done and Thank You for sharing.

Have you taken the project any further since this entry?

Hi, I have tried to replicate your experience with the smoke sensor mq-2. No success.

The mq-2 sensor have digital and analog outputs. I assume that if you have only smoke/no smoke status, you have connected the digital output.

Did you chhange some specs in the sensor?

Pls, your help.
