Hi

I was wondering. Has anyone integrated some sort of voice control into their house? I know fibaro has lili but I mean more integrated than having to open the fibaro app and give commands.

Thanks.

By using tasker autovoice commands, you can call google instead of lili.

David,

I have integrated UBI into the HC2:

Please login or register to see this link.

The UBI supports local HTTP so you can send commands using the HC2 API. You can do things like turn lights on, off or to specific dim levels. Open close and windows or far more interestingly, run scenes.

The UBI uses RegEx so that you can customise the utterance to cater to your needs and to how it interprets what you are saying, so for example if you say “close window” and it seems to sometimes here “clothes window” you have the ability to configure it to accept both.

It also has lots of other features like Google Calendar integration and remote messaging, via the Android app.

It has temp, humidity, lux and sound pressure sensors all of which you can verbally request and I am yet to setup a web server (so that I can send https requests from the HC2) but when I do I will create virtual devices to report the sensor info within the HC2. If only I had more hours in the day

Does it understand other languages then English?

For me I would consider buying one when it listen to Dutch voice commands...

I have not recorded any videos. It's not likely I will have the time nor the interest TBH. In practice the voice interaction is no different to any of the other voice activated demos for which you can find hundreds of videos on youtube. UBI uses the Google engine so if you have used "OK Google" on your phone it's pretty much the same experience. That said, you can interact with it in lots of different ways to Google Now or Siri. It's all described on the UBI website.

EDIT: However be aware that (obviously) the further you are away from the UBI, the more background noise there is and the more echo in the room, the worse the response rate will be. It's not a good toy for showing off to a group of people (especially after a glass of wine or two) as someone surely butts in at the wrong time.

I found an old video for the UBI. I say old, because it already integrates with Google Calendar and various home automation techs as well as local HTTP support (as I already mentioned) which pretty much means you can control any connected device that accepts HTTP requests.

If you are ever in London you can PM me to setup a live demo. I always like talking to HA addicts like myself

No idea. Sorry. I know they have lots of different English language accent packs. I'll check for you and get back with an answer.

English only for now, but they can support other languages and it's on their roadmap. Before you ask, no idea when. You might what to contact them directly for more info.
