i have several floors in the house with electric underfloor heating.

They are today controlled by a thermostat wich uses a temperature sensor in the floor as reference.

Is there a way to exchange these thermostats so they can be controlled by HC2?

Preferably with zwave.

It could also be wifi and use some type of code on HC2 to talk to it.

I have seen Qubino have something that looks like what I want, but is it supported by HC2?

Hi, you need Fibaro relays to control heating on/off and temperature sensors inside rooms - it can be flood sensor on the floor on motion sensor which can also turn on lights when you enter these rooms.

Is it on/off or regulated? I don't know a whole lot about electric underfloor heating as it is usually waterborne here in Denmark, but if it is purely on/off, then it should be fairly straight forward:

Change out the temperature reference sensor to a DS18B20 and connect it to something like a Fibaro door sensor (it has the input for it). The room temperature you can get from any device, but you can use a Z-wave thermostat if you want something which functions both as a thermometer and a setpoint, otherwise you can use any number of devices with a built in thermometer.

Only difficult part is to adjust it in a way which ensures that the heating elements are turned on and off to keep the temperature constant so you don't get a floor with "mood swings".

If it can be adjusted in intensity and isn't just on/off (as I would expect to be the big benefit from electric floor heating vs. waterborne) then I'm affraid you'll have to be looking for a somewhat more novel approach.

The floor is on/off controlled today.

I hope I can pull out the termistor used and replace it with a DS18B20 as suggested.

I have similar system up and running now.

I am using Fibaro FGS211 1x3kW to switch on/off heating, FGBS321 Universal sensor + DS18B20 as a thermometer, virtual device to set up target temperature and LUA script to combine that all together.

It's working perfect. You also can use Heating panel in HC2 to control it, the only reason why I'm using LUA script instead is because I need more complex logic.

Found a new thermostat that covers everything.

Please login or register to see this link.

    Expencive, but looks nice.

I hope HC2 will support it.

    Me want!

    How expensive is that?

    Hi all!

I am also working on this issue. I have a SRT-321 thermostat controlling 3 Fibaro wall plugs and I installed a Fibaro 1x3kW switch relay to the electric floor heating. I had hoped that I could just add the relay to the thermostats group id 2 like the wall plugs and the thermostat would switch it on and off like the wall plugs, but it doesn't work. Any ideas why? I can switch the relay on and off from the web interface and the iPhone app.

    Best regards

    Tinge76,

    where can you buy it?

    +1

They look really slick. Might be nice to have the set point always on display, but if these are reasonably priced I’d be in the market for some.

I think it looks sort of 80's with the 7-segment display... I would expect something like this to have a full lcd display today. Lcd and controller should be no more than $3 in this day and age, so it is a bit of a sorry place to save on something you have to look at everyday.

I agree. I’m tired of flashy products with tonnes of features that don’t work. I’d rather a simple display that does what it is meant to ALL of the time. That said, I stick to my original comment – It would be nice to see both the set point and the current temp at the same time. I should not be pressing a button to get that extra basic piece of relevant info.

Uuuuh... about 200 euros? Nice. Ten of those.

In Finland we have this saying, "ihanan kallista", something like "delightfully expensive!".
