WHEN WILL VERSION 4 BE RELEASED?

FIBARO: Can you give us a straight answer. When will 4.0 be released and stable?

We are waiting and waiting, but your promised version that will solve all problems keeps being delayed. I for one have no more patience with this.

Does anyone here have any good suggestions on how we can make Fibaro deliver on their promises ASAP?

They don't deliver an update because they don't have one.

There is no way to force them to give us the version 4.

However I would like to know WHEN or IF this is going to happen.

Fibaro if you release a product that is rubbish at least tell your customers when they will get your advertised product!

I mean seriously the forum is full of topics ALL related to the buggy software and still you don't care about your customers that are using your products every day.

That however does not keep me from asking. Because I think they should know that a clear release plan would do a lot of good. They should simply time box their development, focus on bugfixes. Release often, fix * fast en then start on new features.

As far as I'm concerned I would release a version after *every* single bug is fixed until they get in somewhat more stable situation. Currently their release smell of "fluster cuck".

"Beta version is designed for user testing and soon will be released as official."

I doubt it will ever be released. Since Fibaro continues to add new stuff in v4 (which naturally means new bugs), any possible release date is just pushed further and further away all the time.

Priority for any software company should be

1) release bug fixes for the current stable branch, continuously, in a timely manner

2) work on future releases with new features

Fibaro went straight to 2).

This leaves us with unusable systems and no hope for the future.

I am very close to leaving Fibaro for good.

Me too. These guys have no idea what they are doing or how to treat their most loyal and engaged customers. We should have been their greatest ambassadors. Instead we'll probably warn as many people as we can to choose other systems.

Never mind the users as long as the Fibaro-guys in suits get to mingle with scantily clad women and receive good receptions from people who've never had to use the crappy products at trade shows.

I really wish I could get rid of my equipment too without losing too much money.

In the mean time, I suggest that everyone who's unhappy with how Fibaro are treating us make their voices heard on twitter. It's really powerful. Use hashtags to make sure that everyone who's interested in #smarthome and #fibaro notices.

realy crappy awnser because i bought the HC2 tried to work with the stable version first, but as soon as i was learning my fibaro motion sensor.

the stable version didn't support it.

so if you want to use one of theire own products you HAVE to update to beta.

when you update to beta and include the motion sensor its dead a few hours later

no it was not meant sarcastically, more a fact that if you want to use the new fibaro motion sensor that you have to update to v4 beta, and that the beta isn't the resolution in the end too.
